Ecosystem-based Adaptation to store water in the landscape
During March 2021, the partners of the Interreg 2 Seas project PROWATER organised their online Midterm Event. Here you can find all of the videos of the event, to watch at your leisure.
- Dr. Jan Staes presented how the PROWATER spatial prioritisation tool and the resulting water system maps, highlighting where to implement Ecosystem-based Adaptation measures, can pro-actively contribute to climate adaptation.
- Dr. Nick Paling highlighted the importance of a participatory approach, the consideration of the social context and the path to long term impact. We are continuing to implement participatory approaches to long-term vision building on water management and the role of Ecosystem-based Adaptation measures.
- We virtually visited a selection of our 15 demonstration sites in total in the United Kingdom, Flanders and the Netherlands. The demonstration sites, where we implement nature-based solutions to drought (& extreme precipitation) in the form of Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) measures, are progressing well.
This event would not have been possible without the time and effort invested by the project partners. We also thank the observer organisations for their attendance and valuable contributions.
